Your Hosts

Claire Heffernan is originally from Ottawa, Ontario. She obtained a BA from the University of Victoria and worked for the non profit sector, tourism and the service sector. Claire is now retired from her job as a health care worker at Greenwoods Eldercare on Salt Spring Island.

Dan Mooney was born in Red Deer Alberta, raised in Maple Creek Saskatchewan and attended College Mathieu in Gravelbourg. He received his B Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon. After a mercifully short teaching career, he moved to Lund BC where he eventually met Claire in 1978. He still does odd jobs for odd people.

There is a vegetable garden, fruit trees and a network of trails on the property. There is a trail map and if they are available, one of your hosts would be more than pleased to give you a guided walk.

When not puttering around the property, Claire and Dan write, read, cook, hike, swim and canoe on the many lakes in the area. Ask Dan about his self published book Almost Paradise.

We have preserved the natural features of the
second growth temperate rain forest.

If you enjoy nature, you will love our place.
